  • Shape: Tanks are often cylindrical or rectangular. Their shape is less critical than that of pressure vessels.
  • Components: Tanks may have inlet/outlet connections, vents, and level indicators.
  • Examples: Water storage tanks, fuel tanks, and chemical storage tanks are typical examples of tanks.
